Charlie Puth has officially announced his fourth studio album, Whatever’s Clever!, set for release on March 6, 2026, through Atlantic Records. Following his 2022 self-titled project Charlie, this new album represents what Puth describes as his “bravest and most honest body of work yet.”
The lead single, Changes, released on October 16, 2025, introduces the record’s nostalgic yet forward-looking tone—a colorful mix of ‘80s-inspired pop production layered with heartfelt storytelling. The song’s music video, directed by Charlotte Rutherford, features playful claymation and vintage aesthetics, culminating in a touching reveal—Charlie and his wife, Brooke Sansone, expecting their first child.
Musically, Whatever’s Clever! continues Puth’s reputation for sleek pop craftsmanship, with collaborations from producers like BloodPop, known for work with Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, and Beyoncé. Recorded throughout 2024 and early 2025, the album explores themes of transformation, love, and self-discovery, melding retro synths, radiant guitar hooks, and cinematic soundscapes.
To celebrate the announcement, Puth also launched residencies at New York’s and Los Angeles’s iconic Blue Note Jazz Clubs, offering intimate previews of unreleased material and surprise performances with legends such as Babyface and Jimmy Jam.
