Gorillaz’s upcoming ninth studio album, The Mountain, will be released on March 20, 2026, through Parlophone, Warner Records, and the band’s own label, Kong. The album was partly recorded in India (Mumbai, Delhi, Rajasthan, Varanasi), and embraces Indian, global, and electronic influences. The lead single, “The Happy Dictator” featuring Sparks, was unveiled alongside the album announcement. The album features collaborations with a wide range of international artists, including Asha Bhosle, Anoushka Shankar, Ajay Prasanna, Amaan & Ayaan Ali Bangash, Omar Souleyman, Johnny Marr, Trueno, IDLES, Black Thought, Paul Simonon, and posthumous vocals by Bobby Womack, Mark E. Smith, Tony Allen, Dennis Hopper, and Proof. It explores life’s journey, cultural celebration, and the band’s signature cross-genre experimentation.
Gorillaz will embark on a UK and European tour starting March 21, 2026, in Manchester, followed by shows in Glasgow, Cardiff, Dublin, and culminating at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, with support from Sparks and Trueno.
