Tate McRae’s SO CLOSE TO WHAT??? (deluxe) is the expanded edition of her third studio album, set for release on November 21, 2025, via RCA Records. The deluxe edition builds on the success of the original So Close to What—which debuted at No. 1 on the US Billboard 200 and topped charts internationally—and extends the record with five new songs, including the US Hot 100 top-five hit “Tit for Tat”.
The complete deluxe album features 21 tracks, weaving together McRae’s signature pop, dance, and R&B influences with introspective lyrics about self-discovery, love, and ambition. Production collaborators include industry heavyweights like Ryan Tedder, Blake Slatkin, Lostboy, Emile Haynie, Ilya, and Rob Bisel, contributing to a polished, energetic sound. The project was written during a period of major transition for McRae, following the extensive Miss Possessive Tour, and reflects her creative evolution as she navigates adulthood and international stardom.
Alongside the music, SO CLOSE TO WHAT???
