Sapphire Lyrics by Ed Sheeran
You’re Glowing
You Colour And Fracture The Light
You Can’t Help But Shine
And I Know That
You Carry The World On Your Back
But Look At You Tonight
The Lights, Your Face, Your Eyes
Exploding Like Fireworks In The Sky
Sapphire
Touching On Your Body While You’re Pushing On Me
Don’t You End The Party, I Could Do This All Week
We’ll Be Dancing Till The Morning, Go To Bed, We Won’t Sleep
(Sapphire)
Touching On Your Body While You’re Pushing On Me
Don’t You End The Party, I Could Do This All Week
We’ll Be Dancing Till The Morning, Go To Bed, We Won’t Sleep
Look What We Found, Karma Reached Out
Into Our Hearts And Pulled Us To Our Feet Now
You Know, The Truth Is We Could Disappear
Anywhere, As Long As I Got You There
When The Sun Dies, Till The Day Shines
When I’m With You, There’s Not Enough Time
You Are My Spring Flower, Watching You Bloom, Wow
We Are Surrounded, But I Can Only See
The Lights, Your Face, Your Eyes
Exploding Like Fireworks In The Sky
Sapphire
Touching On Your Body While You’re Pushing On Me
Don’t You End The Party, I Could Do This All Week
We’ll Be Dancing Till The Morning, Go To Bed, We Won’t Sleep
(Sapphire)
Touching On Your Body While You’re Pushing On Me
Don’t You End The Party, I Could Do This All Week
We’ll Be Dancing Till The Morning, Go To Bed, We Won’t Sleep
(Sapphire)
You’re Glowing
You’re Glowing (ਅੰਬਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਤੂੰ ਝਾਲਰ ਪਾਏ)
You Colour And Fracture The Light
But Look At You Tonight
Sapphire
(Sapphire)
Touching On Your Body While You’re Pushing On Me
Don’t You End The Party, I Could Do This All Week
We’ll Be Dancing Till The Morning, Go To Bed, We Won’t Sleep
(Sapphire)
Touching On Your Body While You’re Pushing On Me
(The Lights, Your Face, Your Eyes)
Don’t You End The Party, I Could Do This All Week (Exploding)
We’ll Be Dancing Till The Morning, Go To Bed,
We Won’t Sleep (Like Fireworks In The Sky)
(Sapphire)
Touching On Your Body While You’re Pushing On Me
(The Lights, Your Face, Your Eyes)
Don’t You End The Party, I Could Do This All Week (Exploding)

What is the meaning behind Ed Sheeran’s “Sapphire” song?
When you think about soulful melodies with heartfelt lyrics in the music industry, only one name comes to mind, and that is “Ed Sheeran.” His voice, soft beats, and poetic writing skills strike a perfect balance in Sapphire. In the song, Ed Sheeran is talking about a girl who literally glows; her beauty is not just external, it radiates from itself by absorbing light.
Lyrics like “You colour and fracture the light” and “You carry the world on your back” tell that this girl is both strong and dazzling. The vibe of the song is full-on romantic and dreamy, the mood is uplifting, and the tone is soft, poetic, and sensual. For those who know Ed only for his sad songs, this will be a refreshing surprise. While listening to this song, you will feel as if you are on a candlelit dance floor, where there are only lights, beats, and a heart-to-heart connection.
What did Ed Sheeran say about “Sapphire”?
Sapphire was the first song I finished for Play that made me know where the album was heading. It’s why I finished the recording process in Goa surrounded by some of the best musicians in India. It was an incredibly creative process. I shot the music video with Liam Pethick and Nic Minns across my India tour earlier this year; we wanted to showcase the beauty and breadth of the country and its culture. The final jigsaw piece for me was getting Arijit Singh on the record. I’ll make a post about that in a few days, but it was a journey to get there and such an amazing day of music and family. Me and him have done a full Punjabi version of the song that will come out in the next few weeks, which has a lot more of him on it. This is the album version of the song, and my favourite song on the album. Hope you guys love it.

Behind the story of Ed Sheeran’s “Sapphire” song?
In 2024, Ed Sheeran was going through a tough time because he had lost his best friend, and on top of that, he was also dealing with a court case. That’s why he felt like making a joyful, happy-vibe song instead of a sad one—something colorful and uplifting. Around this time, Ed came to know about Arijit Singh, who also happened to have a live show in London. So, Sheeran met Arijit unexpectedly and talked to him about his song. After understanding Ed’s thoughts and vision, Arijit invited him to India so he could experience the country’s diversity and draw inspiration for the song.
Then in February 2025, Sheeran came to India with his father and visited Arijit Singh’s hometown, Murshidabad. There, the two of them discussed the song for five and a half hours, shot a few clips, and Arijit also helped Sheeran with writing the song. After that, Ed toured all over India, and the final shoot of the song took place in Goa. While sitting on a beach in Goa and gazing at the sky, Sheeran came up with the title of the song—Sapphire.
The turning point of the song came during the grand finale shoot in Mumbai, where global star Shah Rukh Khan made a surprise appearance and gave his visual contribution to the song—completely free of charge. And that’s how this song was made, beautifully showcasing the richness of Indian culture and diversity.
